The Magic of the Mi-Ki Dog Breed

Intuitive, loving companions that are the perfect portable pets!

The Mi-Ki is a purpose-bred purebred dog that was designed to be an intuitive, intelligent companion in a smaller package. This makes them portable and suitable for urban living, though they also love the great outdoors (with supervision, of course!)

Mi-Kis were bred to be small, quiet, sweet, and easy to train. Many do not shed and may be suitable for those with allergies.

Like all purebred dogs, the Mi-Ki was formed from other breeds. The foundation breeds include the Shih Tzu, Maltese, Pomeranian, Pekingese, and a dash of other toy-sized breeds including the Bichon Frise and Yorkshire Terrier. We have also been told, according to oral tradition, that the Japanese Chin and Papillon were also part of the magical mix.

Mi-Kis have been bred to Mi-Kis and have been considered purebred since the early 1980’s. You may learn more about the history of the breed at the American Mi-Ki Club website.
